ApplyMate ApplyMate
About — 2026

We’re building a quieter way to land the job — one that respects your time, your story, and your ambition.

ApplyMate is a small studio of engineers, recruiters and former hiring managers who got tired of watching great candidates lose to the loudest spammers. So we built a companion that reads your CV like a mentor, points to roles that actually fit, and fills out the busywork while you sleep.

Resumes are stories. Job boards are noise. Applications are paperwork. Interviews are conversations. Resumes are stories. Job boards are noise. Applications are paperwork. Interviews are conversations.

What we believe

Four ideas that decide every product call we make.

If a feature can’t be traced back to one of these, it doesn’t ship. We’re allergic to bloat.

01
Fit over volume

Five right roles beat fifty wrong ones.

Our matcher reads the room — your years, your tools, your visa, the salary you can actually accept — and filters out the rest. No infinite scroll, no fake “you might like”.

02
CV as conversation

Your CV should sound like you on your best Tuesday.

The Audit rewrites for clarity, not buzzwords. It asks you questions, then suggests lines you’d actually say out loud.

03
Quiet automation

Forms should fill themselves. So we made them.

Auto-Apply handles the repeat-typing across Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. You approve, it submits — no spray-and-pray.

04
Honest by default

We tell you when a job is a stretch — and when it isn’t.

Match scores are explainable. Salary ranges are real. If a posting looks like a ghost listing, we mark it.

Origin

A spreadsheet, two laid-off friends, and 412 rejection emails.

ApplyMate started in late 2023 as a shared Google Sheet between our co-founders, Nina and Rohan, after both got hit in the same tech layoff week. They tracked every application, every recruiter ghost, every “we went with another candidate”.

By month three the sheet had 412 rows and a clear pattern: the roles they actually interviewed for were the ones a friend had hand-picked for them. Everything they applied to on a board went nowhere.

So they tried to build that friend. First as a weekend script that ranked job postings against a CV. Then as a Chrome extension that filled out Workday forms. By the time the first hundred users showed up, they’d both landed offers — and ApplyMate had a roadmap.
